Breaking: President Tinubu Appoints Abba Aliyu To Spearhead Nigeria’s Rural Electrification Drive

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially appointed Abba Abubakar Aliyu as the substantive Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The announcement was made on Friday through a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Aliyu, who has been serving as the acting managing director since March 2024, brings over two decades of experience in energy and organizational development across both the private and public sectors. His expertise spans leadership roles in Nigeria’s on-grid and off-grid power sectors, as well as in water resources and transportation.
He previously held positions such as Head of the Project Management Unit at the Nigeria Electrification Project, General Manager of Corporate Services, Projects, and Research, and Deputy General Manager at Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading PLC (NBET).
In the statement, President Tinubu encouraged Aliyu to apply his wealth of experience to advance the REA’s mission of delivering reliable electricity to rural communities, aligning with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda for sustainable energy and power development.
