Breaking: MC Oluomo Takes Helm As NURTW National President
The Southwest Zone of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has elected Alhaji Musliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, as the new National President.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The election took place during the Quadrennial Delegate Conference held at the union’s Zonal Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State, with delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti states participating.
Acting National President Aliyu Issa-Ore emphasized that the election followed the union’s constitution, which designates the responsible zone to nominate its candidate for the National Secretariat. Mrs. Adedamola Salam, Head of Finance at the National Headquarters, also confirmed the election’s adherence to constitutional guidelines.
The delegates elected Tajudeen Agbede as Vice President for the Southwest Zone and Akeem Adeosun as a trustee for the zone.
In his acceptance speech, MC Oluomo called for unity and peace within the union, expressing his commitment to maintaining harmony. He stated, “I have forgiven everyone who may have wronged me and hope those I’ve offended will forgive me as well. This is our union, and we must protect it together without allowing anyone to threaten our livelihood.
