BREAKING: NECO Unveils 2025 BECE Results — Re-sit Exam Date Announced

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The council reported that 179,201 students registered for the junior secondary school exit exam, which took place between May 12 and May 23, covering 12 subjects across multiple centres nationwide.

In a statement released on Wednesday, NECO’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, confirmed that the results were approved following the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting held at NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

Sani stated that all necessary procedures for the release of the results were completed, with validation from both internal and external education stakeholders.

“The BECE Award Committee Meeting concluded successfully, enabling the official release of the results,” Sani added.

Dr. Folake Olatunji-David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, who chaired the meeting, expressed satisfaction with how the exam was administered and the process that led to the result approval.

“We commend the transparency of the process that culminated in the release of these results,” she said.

The meeting, which included NECO officials and selected secondary school principals nationwide, also discussed student performance trends and examination logistics.

Re-sit Exams Scheduled for July 23–24

The Award Committee has also approved July 23 and 24, 2025, for the BECE re-sit exam, which is intended for candidates who did not pass English Studies and Mathematics.
