The Controller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Mr. Haliru Nababa, sternly cautioned officers and personnel of the agency against compromising their responsibilities. The admonition came during a one-day lecture held on Thursday to commemorate the International Anti-Corruption Day 2023 in Abuja.

The event was orchestrated by the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), a segment of the NCoS, in collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Matters Commission (ICPC) to observe the 2023 International Anti-Corruption Day. Nababa emphasized that individuals found engaging in compromising actions would be subjected to the full force of the law.

Highlighting the commitment of Nigerian leaders to the anti-corruption cause in their policy directives, Nababa underscored the profound impact that corrupt practices had inflicted upon the nation. He further pointed to Nigeria’s current standing in the global corruption perception index as a testament to the urgent need for anti-corruption measures.

“The NCoS has aligned itself with the robust anti-corruption stance of the Federal Government to fulfill its statutory mandate,” he affirmed.
