In an interdenominational thanksgiving service at the Beulah Baptist Conference in Ogbomoso, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), declared that the newly installed Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, was destined to be a king from the very beginning.
During the service, Pastor Adeboye shared the story of Olaoye’s journey to kingship, recounting how Olaoye approached him with the news. Adeboye advised him to seek divine guidance through prayer. After a period of prayer, Olaoye returned, affirming that God had spoken, confirming his destined kingship.
Pastor Adeboye emphasized the inevitability of Olaoye’s kingship, stating, “To my critics, if I said no and God said yes, whose word is the final, God, of course. I cannot stop him because Pastor Ghandi was destined to be a king even before he was born, and thank God it is coming to fruition.”
Adeboye urged the new monarch to promote peace and unity among his subjects, encouraging him to embrace people of all faiths and backgrounds.
Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, expressing gratitude, acknowledged Pastor Adeboye as his spiritual father and pledged to be fair to all residents of Ogbomoso. He declared his intention to serve as a king to Christians, Muslims, and traditional rulers alike, seeking prayers for guidance in leading his people with righteousness.
