Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has initiated investigations into the alleged assault on the President of the National Labour Congress, Comrade Joe Ajaero.
The IGP has specifically mandated the Deputy Inspector General in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department to spearhead the inquiry.
The primary objective is to establish the facts surrounding the incident and address any ambiguities that may exist.
Given the multiple and conflicting accounts of the incident, the comprehensive investigation is deemed necessary to provide clarity.
The statement by Adejobi emphasized the IGP’s commitment to conducting a thorough and impartial inquiry, reassuring the labour union that the police will diligently work to uncover the truth and dispel any uncertainties surrounding the incident.
