In an extraordinary National Executive Council meeting convened by the labor unions on Tuesday, the NLC and TUC directed aviation workers to suspend all flights to and from the state.
The official statement issued after the meeting conveys the following: “The NEC, in its session, has issued an order for the immediate withdrawal of services and the shutdown of Imo State, commencing from midnight today.
All workers and their affiliates are urged to ensure compliance from their respective locations. This directive encompasses the cessation of all flights to and from Imo State, along with halting fuel supplies and electricity services. Both public and private sector employees are instructed to cease work indefinitely.”
