The decision was announced in a press release issued on Wednesday by Musa Krishi, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker. The withdrawal follows extensive consultations with various stakeholders and a thorough evaluation of the nation’s current situation.

The statement read, “In light of the concerns and feedback from the public, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has chosen to withdraw the Counter Subversion Bill and any associated legislation.
