The university’s Head of Information and Public Relations, Abubakar Ibrahim, confirmed the students’ release to reporters in Lafia on Monday. According to Ibrahim, the students were set free around 8 pm on Sunday. After undergoing medical examinations and counseling, they were joyfully reunited with their families.
Ibrahim also revealed that in collaboration with the state government and law enforcement agencies, the institution has taken proactive measures to enhance security in and around the university, aiming to prevent any recurrence of such incidents.
However, when seeking a response from the Nasarawa State Police Command regarding the situation, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, stated that the command had not been officially informed about the abduction or subsequent release of the students.
