As he appeared visibly exhausted, Lawal collapsed, causing concerned senators to rush to his aid and quickly call for assistance.
In response to the incident, Senate President Godswil Akpabio urgently requested water and sugar to revive the ministerial nominee.
Akpabio exclaimed, “Water, water! Can you give him sugar and water? Can someone bring water and sugar? Please, call Dr. Wale!”
He also instructed the cameramen to vacate the chamber as the senators worked to assist the ministerial nominee.
At the time of this report, Lawal had been transported to the hospital, and his condition remains undisclosed.
During the same session, Abbas Lawal from Kaduna State was screened alongside Jamila Bio Ibrahim from Kwara State and Mr. Ayodele Olawande from Ondo State.
