Ahmad stated:
“The family of the former president has confirmed the passing of Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon at a clinic in London.
May Allah grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. Amin.”
Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s civilian president from 2015 to 2023 after an earlier tenure as military head of state from 1983 to 1985, was widely recognized for his anti-corruption agenda and efforts to reform the nation’s economy.
Details of his burial are expected to be announced by the family in line with Islamic traditions.
