Themed “Personnel Motivation for Effective Operational Performance in a Joint Environment,” the conference is scheduled to run until December 16, 2023, at the Major General MSA Aliyu Hall, Command Guest House, Maiduguri, Borno State. The Presidential Aircraft touched down at Air Force Base Maiduguri at approximately 11:30 am, surrounded by tight security and a notable presence of top federal government officials. Governor Babagana Zulum, among other dignitaries, warmly received the President.

Accompanied by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Toaheed Lagbaja, Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Gold Chibuisi, and a distinguished entourage, President Tinubu paid a courtesy visit to the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Ibn-Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi, at his palace.

During his visit, Tinubu is set to commission approximately 100 electric and natural gas buses procured by the Borno State Government as part of efforts to alleviate economic challenges in the state.

As the special guest of honour at the conference, President Tinubu is anticipated to address troops at the ‘Theatre Operation Hadin Kai,’ lay the foundation stone of Headquarters 7 Division at Maimalari Military Cantonment, inspect the ongoing Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Project in Maiduguri, and partake in other significant activities.

The week-long conference holds paramount importance in the Nigerian Army’s annual calendar, contributing significantly to national security, peace, and stability. It serves as a platform for the Nigerian Army to assess and comprehensively review its ongoing operational engagements across all theaters of operations throughout the six geopolitical zones within the year. This evaluation provides valuable insights for the Nigerian Army to make informed decisions, addressing the country’s multifaceted security challenges.

Furthermore, the conference facilitates direct interaction between the Chief of Army Staff and General Officers Commanding, Field Commanders, and other senior officers, fostering essential guidance to enhance Nigerian Army operations and activities.
