The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has issued a strong warning to job seekers and the general public, urging them to beware of online fraudsters exploiting the desperation of applicants. The Force emphasized that it does not charge any fees at any point during its recruitment process.

This caution comes in response to a false message circulating on social media, which claims that recruitment has commenced for the 2025/2026 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) and the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC). The NAF described the message as fraudulent, deceptive, and entirely untrue.

In an official statement released on Thursday, July 17, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, dismissed the viral post and urged the public to completely disregard it, stating that no recruitment is currently ongoing.

“The Nigerian Air Force has become aware of fraudulent messages falsely claiming the commencement of recruitment for the 2025/2026 BMTC and DSSC.

We categorically state that no such recruitment is taking place at this time,” the statement read.

Ejodame reiterated that NAF’s recruitment is free, fair, and based strictly on merit, adding that the organization does not engage agents or middlemen.

He further assured Nigerians that authentic recruitment announcements will be made only through official channels, such as national newspapers, the NAF website, and verified social media platforms.

“We advise the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious recruitment messages to appropriate authorities,” Ejodame added.

The NAF urged all interested individuals to rely solely on verified sources for accurate information regarding future recruitment exercises.
