In an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, Ibe stated that as long as Atiku remains in good health and possesses the strength, vitality, and mental acumen, he will stay active in Nigeria’s political space.
“There is absolutely nothing wrong with ambition. Every human being has one. What becomes an issue is when that ambition is misplaced. Atiku Abubakar’s ambition is not flawed; it is rooted in his desire to improve the lives of Nigerians,” Ibe said.
He affirmed that Atiku has made it clear he has no intention of leaving politics, emphasizing his commitment to contribute meaningfully toward national development for as long as he is physically and mentally able.
On the criticism surrounding Atiku’s multiple presidential bids, Ibe defended his principal’s persistence, arguing that the focus should be on what Atiku has to offer rather than how many times he has run.
“Atiku seeks the presidency not for personal gain but because of the vast experience and knowledge he has accumulated over the years. He believes he can make a real difference,” Ibe said.
He also downplayed concerns about Atiku’s history of switching political parties, noting that he is not the first Nigerian politician to do so.
“This is not about Atiku Abubakar alone; it’s about the challenges Nigeria is facing and who has the vision and competence to address them,” he concluded.
