The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Senator Adolphus Wabara, has set up a 13-member interim National Working Committee (NWC), with Tanimu Turaki named as interim National Chairman.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Wabara announced the decision on Monday following a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting convened by the Turaki faction of the party at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

He explained that the move was prompted by a Supreme Court judgment that invalidated the PDP’s 2025 Ibadan National Convention, thereby creating a leadership vacuum within the party.

The interim committee also includes Taofeek Arapaja as National Secretary, alongside members such as Daniel Ambrose, Hamza Abuya, Ihediwa, Isah Abubakar, Theophilus Dakashan, Ini Ememobong, Aribisala Adewale Idowu, Baru Shaffi, and Okechukwu Obiechina.

The formation of the interim NWC followed a motion raised by the Edo State PDP Chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, and supported by ex officio member Clement Fagboyede.

Key figures present at the NEC meeting included Governor Seyi Makinde, former Minister of Special Duties Tanimu Turaki, former Niger State Governor Babangida Muazu, former Information Minister Professor Jerry Gana, Senator Wabara, and former Minister of Women Affairs Zainab Maina, among others.

The faction further maintained that the Abuja convention which produced the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led NWC is invalid and should not be recognised.
