The deputy governor, vying to succeed Governor Godwin Obaseki, revealed his intention to contest on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform in the upcoming 2024 governorship election.
It’s worth noting that Shaibu’s team had previously indicated that he would formally declare his candidacy for the 2024 Edo State governorship election this week.
In a ‘Special Invitation’ dated November 23, 2023, issued by the Philip Shaibu Campaign Organisation, recipients were invited to attend the event scheduled for Monday, November 27, at 8 am, at Eterno Hotels. The invitation expressed Shaibu’s aspiration to serve as the Chief Servant (Governor) of Edo State.
