BREAKING: President Tinubu Makes Fresh Appointment

The swearing-in took place at 12:24pm in the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, concurrent with the Federal Executive Council meeting.

Tinubu had appointed Aliyu and Mr. Clifford Oparaodu as Secretary to the Commission, ICPC, on October 16, 2023. While the Senate confirmation is a prerequisite for the Chairman’s office, the position of Secretary to the Commission does not require such confirmation.

Additionally, President Tinubu administered the oath of office to Prof. Tunji Olaopa, the newly appointed Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission. Olaopa took the oath at 12:30pm, followed by 11 other members of the Commission.

The newly sworn-in members include Dr. Daudu Jalo (representing Adamawa, Gombe, and Taraba), Gekpe Isu (Akwa Ibom and Cross River), Dr. Chamberlain Nwele (Anambra, Ebonyi, and Enugu), Rufus Godwins (Rivers, Delta, and Bayelsa), Dr. Adamu Hussein (Niger and the FCT), and Aminu Nabegu (Jigawa and Kano).

Completing the list are Hindatu Abdullahi (Kaduna and Katsina), Shehu Aliyu (Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara), Odekunle Aduke (Kogi and Kwara), Jide Jimoh (Lagos and Ogun), and Dr. Festus Oyebade (Osun and Oyo).
