According to Naija News, Senator Kingibe affirmed her unwavering commitment to standing with the youth and pro-democracy advocates who are demanding a transparent and credible electoral system.
She made this known on Saturday in response to social media activist Peter Akah, popularly known as Randy Peter, who visited the National Assembly on Friday to formally submit a petition for reforming the Electoral Act.
In a video shared on his handle, Akah appealed directly to the Labour Party senator to back his call for urgent electoral changes.
Kingibe responded with a pledge to champion reforms that align with the hopes of Nigerians and protect the sanctity of the nation’s democracy.
“I deeply commend your bravery, dedication, and commitment to democratic ideals. Coming all the way to the Senate Chambers in Abuja to personally deliver your petition under the #FIXINEC campaign is no small act — it’s a bold expression of civic responsibility and a shining example of the resilience of Nigerian youth.
“The voices of young Nigerians demanding electoral reform must be heard. As the elected representative of the FCT, I stand firmly with you. I am committed to advancing reforms that meet the expectations of our citizens and strengthen our democratic institutions.
“Your actions are a powerful reminder that democracy only thrives through active civic engagement. Thank you for showing leadership. Your message is clear — and I am listening,” she stated.
