The announcement was made on Friday in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, President Tinubu will first travel to France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya, where he will attend the Africa-France Summit scheduled for next week.

The summit, which will be co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, will focus on key issues such as energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and reforms in global financial systems.

Tinubu is expected to participate in the summit from May 11 to May 12, where he will reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with African countries and France.

The gathering, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will bring together African and French leaders to discuss economic development, infrastructure, youth empowerment, climate resilience, technological advancement, and peace-building across the continent.

After the Kenya engagement, the president will proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to 15.

This year’s forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” will convene over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers to explore strategies for boosting economic growth, regional integration, and cross-border investments.

Organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the forum aims to promote industrial competitiveness and private sector expansion across Africa.

During both events, President Tinubu is expected to present Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms and efforts to position the country as an attractive destination for investment.

He will also hold bilateral meetings with global and African business leaders and is expected to return to Nigeria after the Rwanda engagement.
