BUA Refinery Clarifies Operations Amid Speculation On Akwa Ibom Facility

The management of BUA Refinery has clarified that its refinery project in Akwa Ibom remains under construction and is not nearing completion, contrary to recent reports.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement released on Sunday, BUA Refinery reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing Nigeria’s refining capacity and energy security. The Akwa Ibom refinery, upon completion, is designed to process 200,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

The statement urged Nigerians to dismiss claims that the refinery construction was 90% complete, stating:

“Contrary to misleading reports suggesting that our 200,000 barrels/day refinery is at 90% completion, BUA advises the public to disregard such false information that did not originate from us.

“We are pleased to share that construction on the Akwa Ibom refinery project is progressing steadily. Although the refinery is not yet 90% complete, we are on track to meet our delivery timelines in collaboration with our partners. This BUA Refinery & Petrochemicals project marks a significant milestone in bolstering Nigeria’s refining capacity and energy security.

“In addition, our other energy projects, such as the construction of a mini-LNG plant and multiple hybrid power plants across the country to boost our over 1,000MW installed captive power generation capacity, are also making rapid progress.

“We encourage the public to verify news through our official channels and platforms to avoid being misled by inaccurate reports.
