Abdul Samad Rabiu, the head of BUA, disclosed intentions to revise current cement prices, which range from N9,000 to N15,000, to a more affordable range of N7,000 to N8,000. However, this commitment is subject to logistical considerations related to the proximity of markets to BUA’s production plants throughout the country.

The inauguration of the Kalambiana plant represents a significant achievement for BUA Cement, allowing the company to substantially increase its market supply. Rabiu highlighted that the plant’s operation would result in the dispatch of an additional 165 trucks daily, translating to nearly 400 trucks of cement entering the Nigerian market each day.

This expansion in distribution is anticipated to play a pivotal role in stabilizing cement prices across the nation. Rabiu, speaking during the minister’s visit, emphasized the commitment to not only pricing adjustments but also increasing capacity to meet market demands.

He stated, “We believe this additional capacity is going to have a serious positive effect on the supply and demand issue in the country. We also gave our commitment that we don’t believe cement should sell for more than 7,000 Naira anywhere in Nigeria.”

Rabiu concluded by expressing BUA’s dedication to supporting the government’s agenda and contributing to the improvement of the Nigerian economy.
