The Adamawa State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has debunked social media rumours claiming that its chairman, Rev. Joel Manzo, was abducted and beheaded by terrorists.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The false report originated from a Facebook user identified as Lionman Lioni, who alleged that the clergyman had been killed.

In a statement personally signed by Rev. Manzo and released on Saturday, the Association described the claim as the handiwork of “mischief-makers and agents of darkness” attempting to create panic and discredit both the state government and security agencies.

The statement clarified that Rev. Manzo is alive, safe, and in good health, actively carrying out his official duties without fear or intimidation.

CAN also commended the Adamawa State Police Command for swiftly issuing a statement to refute the fake news, urging the public to disregard such malicious reports.

“The general public should dismiss the falsehood in circulation. The CAN Chairman is healthy and fully engaged in his responsibilities across the state,” the statement read.

The Association further called on the police to thoroughly investigate the incident and ensure that those spreading the fake news face the full wrath of the law.
