Reacting after the polls, Moghalu expressed frustration over what he described as the “rampant monetisation” of the election process.
Speaking to journalists at his residence in Nnewi North Local Government Area, the LP flagbearer said he had received numerous reports of large-scale vote-buying across different polling units — despite the heavy presence of security operatives.
“The situation is scandalous and embarrassing,” Moghalu said.
“Vote-buying is no longer speculation. It happened during the last by-election and has become even worse this time. Reports are coming in from various areas about widespread inducement of voters.”
He further lamented that, despite the massive deployment of security personnel, no arrests had been made.
“With the number of security officers in Anambra for this election, I expected that vote-buyers would have been caught and stopped by now,” he added.
