Ohanaeze praised Umahi for his strong advocacy of concrete technology, which is expected to establish him as a key figure in President Bola Tinubu’s administration. The organization commended the minister’s dedication to constructing new Super Highways and utilizing cement technology for road pavement construction, a move endorsed by President Tinubu.
According to a statement by the factional Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the innovative approach of using cement concrete promises roads with a lifespan of over 50 years. Initially met with resistance by some contractors who cited the high cost of cement as a hindrance, recent price reductions in BUA Cement have vindicated Senator Umahi’s stance on cement technology.
Isiguzoro’s statement pointed out that the increased demand for cement technology has led to lower cement prices, eliminating any excuses for not implementing Senator Umahi’s recommendation for cement technology.
Ohanaeze highlighted that the desire for long-lasting roads constructed using cement technology is now achievable, and Senator Engineer Dave Umahi has become a celebrated figure and a key figure in President Tinubu’s administration due to his commitment to this cause.
The organization also commended Umahi for his peaceful resolution of issues with the staff and workers of the Ministry of Works, describing it as a “family dispute.” His fatherly approach to addressing workers’ punctuality issues has been well-received.
Ohanaeze further called on Tinubu to allocate more funds to the Ministry of Works to ensure smooth operations in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
