Following its recent Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, the Central Bank of Nigeria has announced a significant $1.5 billion foreign exchange inflow into the country.
Mrs. Hakama Sidi Ali, the Acting Director of Corporate Communications at the CBN, highlighted that this influx is a result of the central bank’s initiatives aimed at stabilizing the foreign exchange market.
Ali reaffirmed the CBN’s steadfast dedication to maintaining exchange rate stability and ensuring that the Naira maintains its appropriate value against other major global currencies. She emphasized that this development aligns with Governor Olayemi Cardoso’s recent statements following the MPC meeting held on March 26th, 2024.
