In a recent interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, expressed that President Bola Tinubu’s administration won’t be sidetracked by “trivial matters” like the recent controversy surrounding the President’s academic records from the Chicago State University (CSU). Tuggar noted, “We constantly get distracted by frivolous issues instead of focusing on the core issues of development. Spending time on such controversies is not in our agenda.”
Highlighting the precedent, Tuggar mentioned how former President Muhammadu Buhari underwent similar scrutiny. “It’s not new. Buhari faced questioning about his secondary school education, despite evident records of him being the head boy and having classmates,” he emphasized. CONTINUE READING
Addressing Tinubu’s recent international commitments, Tuggar revealed that none of the foreign leaders or international organizations expressed concern about the CSU saga. He concluded, “They clearly have no interest in such trivialities, and neither do we.”
