The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has officially designated Chidi Amadi as his Chief of Staff, as affirmed by a statement released on Friday by Anthony Ogunleye, the Director Press at the Office of the Minister.

Wike emphasized that Amadi’s appointment aims to bolster the effectiveness and efficiency of the FCT Administration, highlighting Amadi’s extensive background in public service. Amadi has previously held notable political positions, including serving as the PDP chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area and as Chief of Staff to the Governor of Rivers State.

In his new role, Amadi will be instrumental in supporting the FCT Minister in formulating and executing policies and programs geared towards advancing the development agenda of the Federal Capital Territory. Additionally, he will provide strategic guidance and ensure the seamless functioning of the Minister’s office.

Amadi, a native of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State and a close associate of Wike, will assume office following his swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Monday, March 18.

Amadi’s appointment comes after his resignation as Chief of Staff to Governor Siminalayi Fubara during a period of political tension between the Governor and Wike regarding the political control of Rivers State.
