Chidinma Okeke Makes Major European Move As Super Falcons Star Joins Napoli
Super Falcons defender Chidinma Okeke has completed a move to Italian club Napoli Women from Mexican side América Femenil on a two-year contract.
The 26-year-old Nigeria international joins Napoli after spending two seasons with América, having previously moved to the Mexican club from Japanese side Mynavi Sendai Ladies in 2024.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Okeke enjoyed a successful spell in Mexico and played a role in América Femenil’s triumph in the CONCACAF Champions Cup during the 2025/26 season before making the switch to Italy.
The defender expressed her excitement about joining Napoli, saying she had already settled into her new surroundings after meeting the coaching staff and her new teammates.
“I’m happy with my first few days here. I’ve met the coach, the staff, and my teammates, and it’s been fantastic. My goal for this season? To give my all together with the team,” Okeke said in comments published by Napoli.
Okeke began her international career with Nigeria’s youth teams before progressing to the senior Super Falcons. She represented the Flamingos at the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and later featured for the Falconets at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Her performances at youth level earned her a place in Nigeria’s squad for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. She subsequently represented the Super Falcons at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The move to Napoli represents another significant step in Okeke’s international career, taking her to her third footballing country outside Nigeria after previous spells in Japan and Mexico. She will now look to establish herself in Italy and contribute to Napoli’s ambitions in the new season.
