1.Two other judges had previously withdrawn from the case.

2.The case has been pending since 2015.

3.Justice Nyako has presided over the case for a significant period, making her the most qualified judge to conclude it.

However, the Chief Judge has instructed that if Nnamdi Kanu still wishes for Justice Nyako to recuse herself at the next hearing, he must submit a written motion along with an affidavit outlining his reasons for the request.

Recently, Justice Nyako recused herself from the trial following Kanu’s assertion in open court that he lacked confidence in her handling of the case.
