In his address at the event on Wednesday, CJN Ariwoola urged the newly appointed judges to uphold exemplary conduct, emphasizing that their actions would be subject to intense public scrutiny.
He stated, “Congratulations once again. The level of public scrutiny of your conduct will, henceforth, assume astronomical dimension because you have willingly taken up an appointment that will strategically place you perennially in the eye of the storm.”
CJN Ariwoola emphasized the need for the new judges to maintain a high level of integrity and conscientiousness in their roles.
He stressed that their behavior and decisions would be closely observed by both the Almighty God and the Nigerian people, who are keenly looking to them for justice.
He also highlighted the surge in litigation cases in the country, particularly related to politics, which has placed a significant burden on the judiciary.
CJN Ariwoola called for a shift towards alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to alleviate the strain on the courts and conserve both human and material resources.
