Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff, marked Eid-el-Kabir with troops stationed in North East Nigeria, emphasizing the need to maintain momentum in counter-terrorism efforts.
During the celebration, General Lagbaja commended Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI for their progress against terrorism, urging sustained dedication.
In a statement by Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, the COAS acknowledged sacrifices made in the fight, highlighting the year’s challenges and losses of personnel and equipment.
Additionally, Lagbaja commissioned infrastructure projects at Maimalari Cantonment, including the Headquarters 47 Engineers Brigade Office complex and several rehabilitated roads.
Major General Waidi Shaibu, Theatre Commander, emphasized the significance of showcasing recovered assets from insurgents as a deterrent.
The COAS’s presence not only celebrated Eid but also recognized operational gains achieved since January, underscoring the troops’ resilience amid ongoing challenges.
