She said:

“Since 2005, I have never read or searched about myself, and I never will. It is important to shield yourself from the terrible part of the internet. You can’t fight faceless ghosts—it’s mentally damaging and warps your sense of reality.

To stay focused, I block out the background noise. Some people don’t realize how deeply their words can wound others. Sadly, several celebrities have committed suicide because of what faceless ghosts wrote about them.

If I had paid attention to such negativity, I wouldn’t have written or spoken the way I have. I wouldn’t be who I am today. There is a kind of liberating ignorance that allows you to do what you love without fear. That’s why I will never search for myself online—it’s simply unhealthy.”
