Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, made the announcement following the receipt of an interim sustainability report from KPMG. This report is expected to offer recommendations on the contentious issue of tariff review, which telecom operators argue is necessary for the sector’s long-term viability.

In his remarks, Dr. Tijani emphasized the government’s commitment to balancing sector sustainability with ensuring accessible connectivity for Nigerians. He highlighted that the KPMG study would help the government identify key areas for action to support the industry’s competitiveness and digital infrastructure development.
