Prominent churches, including the Anglican, Catholic, Methodist, Deeper Life, and Redeemed Christian Church of God, gathered at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja for a preparatory event for the Christ for Nations crusade, aiming to pray for and seek Nigeria’s salvation.

Attendees from the FCT CAN leadership included Dr. John Daku, Executive Director of Africa for Christ for All Nations; Archbishop John Daniel, Deputy President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN); and Rev. Dr. Williams Okoye of All Christian Fellowship.

Rev. Dr. Okoye remarked on Nigeria’s stagnation despite initial expectations of rapid development, attributing it to a “distorted sense of value.” He explained that developed nations have advanced due to their strong core values, citing Singapore’s transformation under Lee Kuan Yew’s leadership as an example.

He emphasized that the upcoming crusade aims to reorient Nigerians towards placing greater importance on internal values. He criticized the nation’s obsession with wealth, citing a recent social media report of a young man who, influenced by distorted values, buried his mother alive for financial gain.

Rev. Dr. Okoye stressed that transforming values and mindsets is crucial for serving both God and humanity, which, he believes, will lead to Nigeria’s progress and change.
