Officers from the Igando Division of the Lagos State Police Command apprehended two individuals, Hammed Olawale and Japhet Oderinde, in connection with a clash between rival cult groups. This information was disclosed by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s Public Relations Officer, through his X handle on Sunday.
Hundeyin revealed that the arrested suspects were in possession of a locally crafted semiautomatic pistol along with four live rounds of 9mm ammunition. Additionally, he mentioned that efforts are underway to capture other individuals who fled the scene.
In the course of the incident, Abeeb Fagbohun, aged 26, sustained gunshot wounds and has been promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention.
Hundeyin’s statement reads, “Officers from Igando Division responded to a distress call reporting a rampage by two rival cult groups, leading to the arrest of 20-year-old Hammed Olawale and 23-year-old Japhet Oderinde. The duo was found in possession of a locally fabricated semiautomatic pistol containing four live rounds of 9mm ammunition. The injured victim, 26-year-old Abeeb Fagbohun, has been hospitalized, and intensive efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects who fled the scene.
