According to the police statement, Bello Mohammed was captured during a raid on a Kaduna hotel on January 20, where he was found in possession of N2.25 million in suspected ransom money. During questioning, he reportedly confessed to being part of the gang responsible for the kidnapping of family members in Bwari on January 2.

Bashir Ahmad expressed his opinion on the matter, suggesting that while he acknowledges the legal constraints, the public execution of Mohammed Bello could act as a strong deterrent to other members of his gang and criminals nationwide. Ahmad emphasized that such a drastic measure could serve as a stern warning, especially considering the severity of the crimes, including the kidnapping of #NajeebahAndHerSisters and the murder of Nabeehah and two others.

He noted that the maximum punishment for kidnapping, according to the Terrorism Act of 2011, is 10 years of imprisonment. Despite this, Ahmad urged for a more severe response, proposing public execution as a means to discourage criminal activities across the country.
