The APC won in all local government areas, including major councils like Abi, Odukpani, Bakassi, and Calabar South. Following the announcement, Certificates of Return were presented to the elected officials.
Governor Bassey Otu congratulated the new chairpersons, describing the elections as peaceful and praising the electorate for their behavior. He expressed confidence that the newly elected officials would align with the state government’s vision and focus on good governance.
“We have a clear vision for the state, and we trust that the new local leadership will support our agenda and commit to delivering quality governance to the people,” Governor Otu stated.
Despite nine opposition parties, including the PDP and Labour Party, participating in the elections, many did not field candidates in all 196 council wards, resulting in several APC candidates being unopposed.
