Comedian AY And Basketmouth Put Beef Behind Them After Nearly Two Decades
Nigerian comedian and filmmaker, Ayodeji Richard Makun, also known as AY, and his longtime colleague, Bright Okpocha (popularly known as Basketmouth), have reconciled after 18 years of rivalry.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
As reported by Naija News, the rift between the two started when Basketmouth revealed in a 2021 interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu that their fallout stemmed from issues of loyalty.
In May 2023, AY opened up in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, explaining that the conflict originated from a failed business deal in 2006. Despite several attempts to resolve the tension, the estrangement persisted for years.
However, in a recent Instagram video, Basketmouth took accountability for the 17-year-long feud, offering a heartfelt public apology to AY and others he may have wronged in the entertainment industry. Basketmouth expressed his sincere regrets and his desire to foster peace and harmony moving forward.
AY shared the moment on his Instagram, posting a video of the two comedians together on his podcast, “The Glass House.” He described the encounter as a chance to share stories, laughter, and reflect on their personal growth after nearly two decades of separation. AY captioned the post, “After 18 years of incessant misunderstandings, join me and @Basketmouth on my Glass House podcast for an unforgettable conversation!
