As part of this initiative, the Police Recruitment Board is scheduled to open the application portal on October 15, 2023, marking a critical phase in bolstering the Force’s capabilities and overall efficiency.
According to a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the online application portal will remain accessible for six weeks, starting from October 15 and closing on November 26, 2023. Adejobi emphasized the eligibility criteria for applicants, which include Nigerian citizenship by birth, possession of a National Identification Number (NIN), a minimum of 5 credits in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO or an equivalent qualification with credit passes in English and Mathematics. The age requirement is 18-25 years for General Duty and 18-28 years for Specialists. Additionally, candidates should meet medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards, standing at not less than 1.67m tall for males and 1.64m tall for females, with a minimum chest measurement of 86cm (34 inches) for males only. Applicants must have a clean financial record and no criminal convictions.
Furthermore, the recruitment offers specialized fields, including Medical Assistant (Junior Community Health Extension Workers), Veterinary Assistant, Band Section, Communications/Info-Tech Specialist, Driver/Mechanic, Marine, Plumbers, Masons, Painters, Tilers, Electricians, Welders, and Carpenters.
Lastly, the Inspector-General of Police, acting IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has urged all applicants to exercise caution and vigilance throughout the application process.
