led state government of sowing discord and division among the state’s residents, emphasizing the need for a unifying figure.
Melaye asserted that Governor Bello has fostered inequality within the state, resulting in a proliferation of various ethnic interests among the population.
During an appearance on Arise News on Thursday night, the PDP candidate conveyed his commitment to restoring unity to a state that has been severely polarized.
Melaye stressed the significance of the upcoming November 11 governorship election for the people of the North Central state.
He stated, “Fundamentally, I would say it’s a critically important election for the entire population of Kogi State. We are presently facing challenging times. Kogi State is like a troubled region in dire need of salvation, correction, and relief. We require a savior.”
He went on to explain that he aims to play a pivotal role in resolving the state’s issues through divine grace. The current state of affairs is unparalleled in the history of the state, characterized by unprecedented divisions among the residents.
Melaye lamented the emergence of various ethnic agendas such as the Igala agenda, Okun agenda, or Igbira agenda, which were unheard of in the past.
He recalled that past governors, regardless of their ethnic background, focused on their party affiliations during campaigns and elections, rather than highlighting specific ethnic agendas.
