Comment On My Boss’ Posts 30 Times Or Lose Your Salary — Lady Alleges Workplace Ordeal
A Nigerian lady has recounted what she described as her “favourite horror story” from her alleged experience working at a company identified as Gtext, claiming that employees were required to regularly engage with the social media posts of the company and its boss.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the woman shared her account in a post on her TikTok page, where she alleged that workers were expected to comment on posts made by the company and its boss, Stephen, 30 times every day from Monday to Friday.
She claimed that failing to complete the required number of comments could result in a salary deduction. According to her, ₦10,000 was once deducted from her salary after she failed to make the required comments on a particularly busy workday.
The lady further alleged that employees were sometimes instructed to promote Stephen and the company on their WhatsApp Status using captions provided by the organisation.
She said the requirement often left her uncomfortable, particularly when people questioned why she repeatedly posted her boss on WhatsApp. According to her account, she did not feel comfortable explaining that the posts were allegedly part of her workplace responsibilities and were connected to her salary.
The woman also made claims concerning salary delays during her time at the company. She alleged that her December salary was not paid until February and that she received only 60 per cent of the amount owed to her.
She further claimed that her January and February salaries were still outstanding when she resigned from the company in March.
“My December salary wasn’t paid until February, and he paid me only 60 percent. January and February salaries were still outstanding when I resigned on March,” she stated.
Her account has since generated discussions online, with social media users debating workplace expectations, employee obligations, salary deductions and delayed payment of wages.
The allegations remain the woman’s account of her experience, and no independent verification of the claims or response from Gtext was included in the material available.
