Damagum Criticizes Dino For PDP’s Issues

The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Iliya Damagum, has accused former senator Dino Melaye of exacerbating the party’s ongoing crises. Damagum highlighted Melaye’s actions during the recent Kogi gubernatorial election as evidence of his alleged detrimental impact on the party.

In an interview with Daily Trust, Damagum responded to Melaye’s comments, in which Melaye had disparaged the PDP as a “once upon a time party.” Damagum challenged Melaye’s commitment to the party, pointing out that Melaye, despite being a gubernatorial candidate, failed to cast a vote in his own election.

“Dino Melaye’s statement and actions reflect poorly on him,” Damagum asserted. “He didn’t even vote for himself during the Kogi State election. This should speak volumes about who is truly harming the party. When given the opportunity to run on the PDP platform, it is your duty to enhance its prospects. Whether you win or lose, you should do so with integrity.”
