Davido Opens Up On Lifelong Advice From Dangote That Has Guided Him Since Childhood

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote has been advising him to save and manage his money wisely since he was a child.

Davido made the revelation while discussing his longstanding relationship with Dangote and the close ties between their families during a recent interview in Lagos.

According to Davido, Dangote has remained a familiar figure in his life for decades and has consistently offered him financial advice whenever they meet.

“Anytime I see him, he still tells me, ‘David, save your money.’ He’s been saying that since I was a baby,” the singer said.

Davido also recalled the longstanding relationship between Dangote and his family, revealing that the billionaire once drove his mother home from the hospital after she gave birth to him.

“Aliko Dangote drove my mom home from the hospital when she gave birth to me,” he said.

The singer explained that Dangote’s advice has remained relevant as his music career has grown and he has had to navigate the financial demands that come with fame and success.

Davido further described billionaires as ordinary people despite their enormous wealth, noting that their lifestyles and personalities may differ from the extravagant image often associated with wealthy individuals.

He also highlighted Dangote’s close relationship with his father, businessman Adedeji Adeleke, stressing that the bond between the two families has existed for decades.
