Deadly Attack Claims The Life Of Printer In Rivers State....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Suspected cultists, believed to be armed gunmen, fatally shot George Sopruchi, a printer, on Saturday evening along Abakiliki Street in the Mile 1 area of Diobu, Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State.
The assailants reportedly trailed Sopruchi to Abakiliki close around 8:30 pm and opened fire while he was engaged in conversation with another individual.
This incident occurred just 72 hours after another suspected cultist shot and killed a man in the Nanka/Lumuber area of Diobu.
According to an anonymous eyewitness, the gunmen also robbed Sopruchi of his motorcycle and one of his mobile phones.
“The situation in Diobu is increasingly alarming. We urge the police to be more vigilant so that residents can feel safe,” the eyewitness stated.
Last Thursday’s killing along Nanka/Lumuber Street was confirmed by Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, who mentioned that investigations were ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.
Efforts to reach the police spokesperson for comment on the latest incident were unsuccessful as calls to her mobile phone went unanswered, and she had not responded to a text message at the time of compiling this report on Sunday afternoon.
The situation underscores the pressing need for enhanced security measures in Diobu to curb the escalating violence.
