Deepfake Danger: Osinbajo Exposes AI-Generated Lies In Viral Endorsement Videos

In a statement released on Thursday by his media aide, Mohammed Braimah, Osinbajo strongly condemned the videos, calling them entirely deceptive and urged the public to completely disregard them.

“It has come to our notice that artificial intelligence is being misused to create misleading videos using the image and voice of His Excellency, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, to promote products and services with which he has no connection,” the statement read.

Braimah made it clear that Osinbajo is not associated with any of the products or schemes featured in these manipulated videos. He condemned the misuse of the former VP’s identity, noting that one doctored clip falsely shows him endorsing hypertension medication, while another mimics his voice to promote a fake money-making platform.

“These videos are complete fabrications and should not be taken seriously,” the statement stressed.

Osinbajo’s team cautioned Nigerians to exercise vigilance and verify the authenticity of promotional content, especially when public figures are involved.

“We urge the public to remain alert and confirm the legitimacy of any product or service before engaging with it,” the statement concluded.
