Destalker recounted how his struggles began after university graduation, where he found himself unable to secure employment, leading him to resort to becoming a commercial motorcyclist.
The comedian expressed that the inability to find stable employment, coupled with familial pressures, exacerbated his mental health issues, plunging him into a state of depression.
During the Afrobeats Podcast, Destalker candidly revealed, “I graduated with a degree in Public Administration but couldn’t land a job. So I resorted to being an okada [commercial motorcyclist]. However, I had always harbored the ambition of being my own boss, despite societal expectations.”
He continued, “The journey was arduous, fraught with distractions, and ultimately led me to contemplate suicide three times. It’s a part of my life that few are aware of. Yet, through these trials, I realized the sanctity of life. I came to believe that when you’re at your lowest, your breakthrough is imminent. Challenges are merely obstacles on the path to your destiny.”
Destalker credited his colleague, Ajebo, for being instrumental in his comedic breakthrough, marking a turning point in his career.
