Bello expressed surprise that, given Melaye’s background as a former legislator, he failed to accumulate sufficient electoral experience to impact the recent polls, asserting that Melaye is essentially “empty.”

Bello clarified that Melaye did not participate in the November 11 election, making his call for its cancellation baseless. He characterized Melaye as someone who “somersaulted into politics, knowing nothing about the game.”

The APC chairman emphasized that electoral qualifications demand active participation, highlighting Melaye’s disqualification due to non-participation. Bello criticized Melaye for relying on blackmail and argued against the cancellation of the entire election based on isolated issues in specific wards.

In a sarcastic tone, Bello questioned the logic of accepting results in areas where Melaye won while disputing those in areas where he lost. He asserted that Melaye and other candidates were unprepared for the election and lacked the necessary widespread support to secure victory.

Bello challenged Melaye’s aspirations for the governorship, pointing out that such elections require broad support across the entire state, unlike local government or legislative contests. He asserted that the APC has an established structure at all levels, contrasting it with parties lacking comparable organizational foundations.
