They have been urged to refrain from attempting to employ the legal system to counter the people’s will.
This senatorial district, encompassing Keffi, Karu, Kokona, Nasarawa, and Toto local governments, convened in Keffi to express their discontent with the recent ruling by the state’s gubernatorial election petition tribunal, which ousted Governor Abdullahi Sule from his position.
In a display of solidarity with Governor Sule, the residents held placards bearing messages that conveyed their astonishment and dissatisfaction with the tribunal’s decision.
The placards bore inscriptions such as “We cast our votes for Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule and no one else” and “no one should entertain thoughts of using the legal system to counter our decision,” among others.
The residents have called upon the Court of Appeal to address what they perceive as an unjust ruling by the tribunal and reinstate the incumbent governor’s rightful mandate.
Representing the governor, Prince Attajiri, the Western Coordinator, along with five executive local government chairpersons, commissioners, heads of government agencies, political appointees, party leaders, interest groups, and stakeholders, have appealed for calm and continued support for Governor Sule.”
