In other news, the price of onions in Nigeria has risen sharply ahead of the Yuletide season. A small-sized onion is currently priced between ₦200 and ₦300 across various markets. A recent survey in Abuja’s Dutse and Kubwa village markets found that the cost of a small onion has surged by 200%, increasing to ₦300 from ₦100 in November. Larger onions are now selling for ₦500, up from ₦300.
