Speaking during an interactive session with members of the Abia State Global Economic Council in Umuahia, Otti clarified that he has neither participated in nor received any invitation to meetings organized by the emerging opposition coalition.

The governor emphasized that his focus remains firmly on fulfilling the mandate entrusted to him by the people of Abia, not on seeking political realignment.

Addressing speculations about internal strife within the Labour Party, Otti acknowledged that the party had faced challenges in the past but successfully overcame them, even battling through to the Supreme Court to reclaim its position.

He stated:

“I am still a member of the Labour Party. I’m not looking for another party to join.”

When asked about involvement in the new coalition, he responded:

“Have you seen my name anywhere? Have you seen me at any coalition meeting? We are fully engaged in the responsibilities given to us by the people of Abia. No one has invited me, and I’m content where I am. You don’t resolve a problem by running away from it and pretending it’s fixed.”
